Insurance Craziness

Yesterday, we had quite the insurance fiasco, with our local agent dropping the ball on our policy, even though he said he'd "take care of it in plenty of time." So much for trusting insurance guys, not that I ever did, anyway. Meanwhile, after we discovered he was about to screw us over for twice what we've been paying, even though this is the one year we will have (six months actually) where we haven't had a male teenage driver (highest risk category of all) on our policy in 6 years, it should be lower than usual, I was on the prowl for another company. And lo and behold, Progressive won!! Instead of $500+ a month, it's less than $200. IMPORTANT UPDATE: It turns out that our local agent is now presenting us an offer of less than Progressive's....mmm, what to do...stay tuned ...ok LATEST UPDATE: Back to the local agent, 'cause Progressive can't beat the reduction Nationwide is offering. Well, I still think Progressive is a decent company. It's just wiser to save a little money wherever you can.

Cleaning the House Marathon

Whew, I'm finally finished with the first draft of the book, although the minute I sent it out, I felt it needed a whole lot of fixing. As I put it into my notebook to keep track of everything in the right order, I kept marking things here and there, but I guess that's the nature of a first draft. Yay!! Anyway, I need to tackle the house now. I've neglected so much it's pathetic. I look around and don't know where to start first. It all needs work. After that, I'll need to do a Writing the Syllabi Marathon probably. Oh well. Meanwhile, I would like to set up a site where Mom and Dad can just go to it and see all of our family's pictures. I told them about going to the public library and just typing in a URL and told them that a URL was one of those www.com things, so they understood, but still feel intimidated I'm sure. I wonder if, when I'm their age, I'll have the same feeling of intimidation about technology. Probably. The camera phones still freak me out with their Dick Tracy-like feel. Ok, well since I can't type in a cleaning job, I guess I better go do the analog work it entails.

Monday

Had a bad day yesterday battling depression, but managed to get some revisions done on the article I need to send to Byron. Intend to do so today.
